Assistant Team Lead (ATL) – General Duties Purpose: To monitor the performance of press operators and material handlers, ensuring they produce quality parts efficiently and safely, while supporting the Team Lead in daily operations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Production Monitoring & Quality Control Ensure press operators and handlers follow work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Conduct routine checks on production output to maintain quality standards. Identify and report defective products, assisting in troubleshooting issues. Support the implementation of corrective actions for non-conforming parts. 1. Operational Efficiency and Support: Monitor cycle times and production targets to ensure efficiency. Assist in the setup, startup, and changeovers of injection molding machines when necessary. Ensure raw materials, components, and packaging are available for production. Reduce downtime by coordinating with maintenance or technicians on equipment issues. 1. Safety & Compliance Ensure that all team members follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE. Report any safety hazards, near misses, or incidents to the Team Lead or Supervisor. Reinforce and promote a culture of safety within the team. 1. Training & Coaching Assist in training new press operators and handlers on job duties and best practices. Provide guidance and support to team members to improve their performance. Ensure employees understand quality standards and production expectations. 1. Communication & Reporting Act as a liaison between team members and the Team Lead/Supervisor. Communicate shift updates, production goals, and issues to the team. Complete necessary production reports, downtime logs, and quality check documentation. 1. Housekeeping and 5S Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Ensure workstations, machines, and surrounding areas are free of clutter. Promote and enforce 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). 1. Continuous Improvement Identify areas for process improvement and suggest solutions to enhance productivity. Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and efficiency initiatives. Encourage team members to contribute ideas for improving operations. Qualifications and Skills: Experience in plastic injection molding or a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership and communication skills. Understanding of quality standards, safety regulations, and operational procedures. Team-oriented, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
