Dear Hiring Manager,
I'm an apprentice Electrician who recently got laid off due to a loss of jobs for the Electrical Contractor I worked for. 15 employees were laid off, and as one of the new apprentices my name fell on the block, but I'm eager to get back to work. If my previous company, Burnsville Electric, picks back up in work and they give me a call I intend to stay with your company, J. Becher, if I am hired on. Between my schooling and my experience with my previous company, I have the skills and knowledge to be a productive apprentice. With that said, I know there's still a lot more to learn. I'm an easy going guy, I get along well with others, and I'm receptive to instruction and correction. I enjoy being an electrician, and I'd like to continue my career with your company. Best of wishes and thank you for your consideration.
-Andrew
I have a long history with this company, and they have been my primary source of work from 2017-2019 and 2021-2024. Ehman Landscaping is a business that installs sod and does some seeding for homes. My responsibilities were prepping the ground, i.e. shoveling and raking, and laying sod. My most recent summer I was given the responsibility of driving one of the work trucks. My DOT card is still good.
Any apparent gaps in my work history come from staying with Ehman throughout the years as they only operate from Spring to Autumn.
I mainly did rough in work with some experience working in finish. All work was residential. I am capable of mapping out and pulling a circuit at a quick pace, and I aim to make my work neat and make sure it complies with code. If your shop has different or preferred wiring methods I will adapt to them. I didn't do a lot of finish work, but I did get good at it. I make sure outlets are not crooked, not sunken in, and that they are tight and secure. I make sure faceplates are not popped off of the wall, and in a two or three gang box I make sure all devices are straight and in line with each other.
At ICU Medical I assembled and tested medical devices called trauma towers. The purpose of these trauma towers are to warm up blood to body temperature and deliver this blood to a patient suffering from major blood loss. The assembly included soldering wires, and installing them in the device along with other electrical components. In this job the entire assembly of the device is done by one person.
At Lansing Building Products I was responsible for picking orders , unloading trucks with a forklift, and cutting and forming gutter coil among other things.
I have worked this job at various different stages of my life while going to school. I was one fastest loading trucks and earned employee the month my first year there. I have also worked there in 2019 and 2022.
At Frattallone's Ace Hardware, now simply rebranded as Frattallone's Hardware, I was responsible or many things of which included: cashiering, making keys, cutting glass, mixing paint, threading pipe, and customer service. This was a very special job for me as it was my first, and I learned a lot from it. Here I learned the various skills as listed above, and how to properly assist a customer and have their needs met, and the importance of a positive attitude coupled with a desire to grow in your work and ability.
I also worked at Frattalone's during 2023 while attending Dunwoody.
