Charge Nurse

Planned and coordinated day-to-day administrative and operational functioning of an 18 bed medical surgical unit.

Supported the nurse manager in operating the unit by controlling the quality of service, cost-effectiveness, and patient

safety.

Maintained documentation of medication administered and care as rendered.

Reviewed care plans on a daily basis to ensure appropriate care was provided to each patient’s needs.

Determined patient care assignments in accordance with patient’s requirements.

Pre-operative Nurse- Established intravenous access and administered medication as ordered, Provided education to the

patient relevant to the procedure being performed.

Post-operative Nurse- Performed post patient assessment, review of history, discharge planning, and review of diagnostic

studies with appropriate follow through and physician consultation, managed post-operative pain and surgical sites, and assessed and prepared patients/families/significant others for discharge.

Case Manager- Initiated medication prior authorizations, educated others on insurance requirements, coordinated

operating room scheduling.

Clinic Nurse- Established rapport with patient, communicate with providers as patient advocate.Pre-operative Nurse- Organization of preoperative rooms, venipuncture, discharge education.
