Surgical Skills Lab Supervisor

  • Supervised up to three people who were working in the surgical skills lab, shipping roles, trade show and industry event support, and UE Sales Force support in the UE MedEd Department.
  • Maintained responsibility for UE MedED lab budget and oversaw how each of the budget items were allocated.
  • Repaired and maintained lab equipment to ensure smooth functioning of each items.
  • Facilitated cadaveric Surgical Skills Labs in order to create the best lab experience possible for both the Surgeon attendees and the individuals/groups that were hosting the lab.
  • Oversaw the Surgical Skills Lab in Bloomington to maintain a state of readiness in terms of PPE, implants, general instruments, and surgical sets (where appropriate) for any divisions/groups within Wright Medical/Stryker that would want to utilize the lab as a resource.
  • Assisted meaningfully in labs for Sales Representatives, R&D groups, Marketing teams, Sales Training Teams, and Medical Education teams for the JR, Trauma, UE, F&A, Sports Med, and IVS divisions within Stryker/Wright Medical as an expert in surgical lab flow, support, and product expert on the UE instruments/implants.
  • Taught in the lab portion of the UE Sales Training 101, 201, and 301 to pass along knowledge of the instruments, implants, software, surgical exposure, and revision techniques to help Sales Representatives be ready for their new careers.
  • Traveled to all UE Med Ed National, Regional, and Fellows courses and some UE Sales Training Courses as a product expert to lead stations in order to teach Surgeons and Sales Representatives on safe and approved use of UE systems and implants.
  • Created the lists of inventory (to include surgical trays, demo implants, general implants, disposables, and etc.) for these courses and physically oversaw each of the above mentioned items were packed, shipped, and returned from the courses.
  • Maintained, organized, and replenished the UE Med Ed implant inventory of demo implants and cadaveric surgical sets that were used in labs, demos, sales calls, and various trainings around the country by our Sales Representatives in the field.
  • Assisted the UE Sales Representatives in the field by taking calls, emails, texts, and face to face communications by sending out the demo implants, cadaveric lab surgical trays, trade show/industry event materials, and various other items needed.
  • Acted as a product expert resource for the UE Sales Force where they could ask questions about specific products, systems, procedures, and instruments.
  • Assisted Sales Representatives, Regional Sales Managers, Marketing Teams, Sales Training Teams, and Directors of Sales (where appropriate) in assuring the individual or teams of people had what they needed for labs, trainings, and demos based on the experience that was gained throughout the years of being in this role.
  • Maintained an up to date knowledge of older products/systems, current flagship products/systems, and new and in development products/systems to best assist the Sales Force where and when possible.
