Though I've been out of working with youth for awhile, previous jobs have well prepared me.
I was a youth director mainly focused on 7-12th grade youth in a church setting (Immanuel Lutheran in Eden Prairie) from 2000-2002 - I also lead backpacking groups to the Bighorn Mountains in WY for 10 years with that same group.
I was also a camp counselor, then program director at Camp Onomia in Onamia, MN. This was working with 1st-9th grades primarily.
In 2010 I went to Montana to work with the Montana Conservation Corps and a significant part of my job there was training our youth corps members and counselors on leadership as well as trail work.
