Work in the outpatient pharmacy checking prescriptions, counseling new patients and supervising pharmacy technicians. Conduct and gather medication histories (med rec) on patients being admitted from the ED.

Primary duties are verification of inpatient (ED, infusion/oncology, medical/surgical, ICU, nursery and medication reconciliation of all patients admitted to the hospital. Complete warfarin, antibiotic,critical care medicine consults. Consult for after hours anticoag clinic. After hours order verification for smaller outside hospitals in HealthPartners. Check all first fill medications, IVs and non-sterile compounds. Attend codes throughout the hospital (code blue, code stroke, code BERT, rapid responses). Precept pharmacy students. Fill prescriptions for ED patients after hours.

Worked as a staff pharmacist filling, checking prescriptions, counseling patients, administering vaccines (led the company in shingles vaccines given the first year of Zostavax release). Supervising pharmacy techs and pharmacy students.
