As a Unit Supervisor I am responsible for managing and overseeing the direct care staff members and the youth in our care. I work to ensure the program is adhering to DHS and CARF requirements and making adjustments as conflicts arise. The position involves strong interpersonal communication skills and full knowledge of the program and working with at risk youth.


Below are some responsibilities:

- Develop, train, and implement necessary trainings for all staff (including HWC and CPR/First Aid)

- Work to resolve conflicts among team members and youth through active listening, mediation techniques and allowing for open dialogue between both parties

- Monitor performance of Residential Counselors and providing regular feedback in the moment or during weekly supervision meetings

- Create the work schedule for Residential Counselors and send out weekly

In my role as a Residential Counselor I worked directly with the clients that Avanti serves in a level 5 treatment facility. I was primarily responsible for directly supervising the residents and ensuring their safety.
