As a Unit Supervisor I am responsible for managing and overseeing the direct care staff members and the youth in our care. I work to ensure the program is adhering to DHS and CARF requirements and making adjustments as conflicts arise. The position involves strong interpersonal communication skills and full knowledge of the program and working with at risk youth.

Below are some responsibilities:

- Develop, train, and implement necessary trainings for all staff (including HWC and CPR/First Aid)

- Work to resolve conflicts among team members and youth through active listening, mediation techniques and allowing for open dialogue between both parties

- Monitor performance of Residential Counselors and providing regular feedback in the moment or during weekly supervision meetings

- Create the work schedule for Residential Counselors and send out weekly

In my role as a Residential Counselor I worked directly with the clients that Avanti serves in a level 5 treatment facility. I was primarily responsible for directly supervising the residents and ensuring their safety.

Below are some tasks and experience:

- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for the at risk youth, contributing to their wellbeing

- Utilizing de-escalation and behavior management techniques in response to behavioral incidents

- Order, track, and pass medications to the youth

- Using trauma informed care and a person centered lens to guide the residents through their treatment

- Using safety based physical restraints during times that the youth were in intense crisis

Below are some responsibilities:

- Fostering a supportive learning environment by promoting positive reinforcement and constructive feedback

- Developing and implementing lesson plans for each class based on age, ability, and group size

- Utilizing different style of teaching to accommodate dancers of all capabilities

- Collaborated with other instructors to plan and execute successful recitals, showcasing the dancers' progress and achievements
