• Barbering: 1500 hours of school before you can become a barber. A barber does cuts, perms, shampoo, style hair, and they do shaves.
• Cosmetology: 11 months attending a full 1550 hours 12 months in total. License to provide cosmetic time. Treatments to hair, skin, and nails
• Nail Tech: 6-12 months on average, state license is $285. 300-600 hours 350 hours in Minnesota of training about 350 need certification in cosmetology or nail art.
• Eyelash Tech: 14-16 hours of education 38 hours in total online training lasts up to 24 hours. Keep hands steady, maintain attention to details.
• Esthetician: 6-8 hours 6-8 months maintain empathy, customer service, and people skills. focus on the physiology of skin anatomy.
• AP Esthetician: 500+ hours of training. Customer service people skills…. Specialized training in chemical exfoliation.
• Injectionest: 6-8 months must spend at least two years in core competencies
• Mortician:
• Massage Therapist: 500- 1000 hours some schools you need a license. Job is to create relaxation and to treat customers' pain or discomfort.
• Media Makeup Artist: 8 months but if you decide to do part time it can take up to two years. You need design skills, be thorough and pay attention to detail, need sanitation training
• Braider: in Minnesota you need 30 education hours and you need to renew your license every 3 years. Braider specializes in twisting, braiding and trying many small braids all over the head.
• Laser Tech: 120 hours in laser training, need experience in medicine regarding any surgical procedures including laser or any laser devices. Education is not required involving laser treatment in the state.
• Microblading: You need 400 education hours to become licensed 600 hours in total. Microblading is a form of a tattooing technique and form of permanent makeup.
• Brow specialist:

• I just graduated from cosmetology school May 27th 2025
• I graduated in 10 months with a 90.52 gpa
• I realized I loved helping out the kids at the dance studio that I worked at get ready for rehearsals from putting there hair up to helping them with their makeup. It helped spark my passion for hair and wanting to learn more about this industry
