It also involves assisting businesses with navigating how to conduct business with the State.
  • Train buyers throughout the executive branch so they are equipped to purchase what is needed by their agency while complying with the laws, rules, policies, and procedures of the State of Minnesota.
  • Create process improvements to increase efficiency within the Office of State Procurement. Some examples include writing the contract template used to award large construction projects, serving on the team which overhauled the solicitation template used by all buyers, and creating other tools, like an addendum template.
  • Negotiate cost avoidances and beneficial terms and conditions for the solicitation I administer.

* Active member since 2014.

* Elected to the board position of secretary in 2017.

* Elected to serve as vice president, president, and past-president from 2020-2022.

* As vice-president I planned, organized, and led the first virtual annual conference in the history of the Chapter.

* As president I led and organized Chapter meetings and board meetings.  I provided support for board members to succeed in their positions.

* As past-president I authored an award application highlighting improvements made to membership coordination operations that won the national NIGP award for Outstanding Chapter Operations, the first national NIGP award received by the Chapter.
