  • The project limits extend approximately 0.19 miles northwest from the eastern intersection of TH 12 and CSAH 92 to 0.36 miles southeast of the western intersection of TH 12 and CSAH 92.
  • The project limit extends approximately 0.28 miles south of Egret Drive along CSAH 92 and 0.10 miles north of the intersection of CSAH 92 and Lake Sarah Road.
  • Implementing the Level 2 routine wetland delineation methodology, 16 wetlands were delineated within the TH 12 and CSAH 92 project limits.
  • Identification of these areas was initially completed through the review of NWI maps and aerial photographs.
  • Areas illustrated on the NWI map were examined in the field to determine if wetland conditions exist at these locations.

  • MnDOT provided a list of 72 culverts that needed to be investigated.
  • Each culvert location was investigated for 200 feet in both directions parallel to the highway and 100 feet beyond the road right-of-way.
  • The purpose of the project was to do a mill and overlay of the highway, culvert replacement, and bank stabilization along the highway.

  • The project corridor begins approximately 0.50 miles south of the TH 52/County Road 24 interchange in Cannon Falls in Goodhue County, and ends at the intersection of TH 52 and 470th Street, just south of Zumbrota.
  • The proposed project only involves the reconstruction of the southbound lanes of TH 52, so the limits of this delineation do not cover the northbound land.
  • However, at several interchanges, the project limits have been expanded to allow for improvements.
  • The project involved the investigation of 20 wetlands, 35 wet ditches, and four other aquatic resources (OAR).

  • I 94 Gap involved an approximately 7-mile segment of the highway and was done for mill and overlay operations to rehabilitate the roadway.
  • Wetlands and wet ditches adjacent to the highway were delineated in the field and a Wetland Delineation Report, including a historical aerial review for farmed wetlands, was prepared and submitted to the local, state, and federal regulatory agencies for approval.
  • A total of three wetlands, 35 wet ditches, and two Other Aquatic Resources were delineated in the project corridor.
