John Seamans

As a logistics intern at Viking Forest Products, I work closely with traders of various products on making sure their products are being delivered correctly and efficiently at the correct freight rate. I also confirm and fill out paperwork such as proof of delivery and bills of lading while checking software to make sure any active delivery information is updated.

In addition to this:

-I am gaining experience in the freight market and getting a gauge on regional freight rates

-Learning more about our departments and the products they buy and sell

-Researching and analyzing lumber and panels

As the caddy manager at Wayzata Country Club, I've been able to develop my social skills with members at the club my working for and conversing with those members. I have also developed my management skills by training in and hiring beginner caddies to give them the same opportunity.

As a caddy, I am able to enjoy the game of golf while establishing connections with the successful people I am caddying for. Enjoying the outdoors and talking with golf members about their lives and experiences in the working world at a young age motivated me to want to be successful as well.
