I am a passionate vegan of 8 years that would eat at J Selby’s everyday if I could, and I would absolutely love to be a part of something I find so important - serving delicious vegan food that everybody can enjoy. I have years of experience in food service, strive to perform to the best of my ability no matter the task at hand, and would love the opportunity to combine my adoration for vegan food and helping others have a fantastic day all in one!

  • Healthcare has been a lot more like customer service in various ways in my experience, and I feel like I excel in this due to my previous experience that I will soon mention!
  • I work overnights so I technically work by myself in my department, so I have to be efficient and independent which I think I handle very well.
  • Although I work “alone”, as in I’m the only CT Technologist on during my shift, I make the effort to get to know people in other departments. I think it’s important to work as a team in every way that’s possible.
  • I work overnight every Sunday and Monday, 7:30pm-7:30am, so I am looking for a part-time position that works around my current job.

  • As simple as it may sound, I loved (and dearly miss) taking customers’ orders and working in food service. I take pride in my work no matter the task in hand, and I know how much I appreciate 5 star service, and I strive to always provide that for every customer.
  • I worked as an opener and as a closer during my time at Starbucks, so I know how to set up each shift of the day for success.
  • I was 16 when I started working for Starbucks as a Barista, and by the time I was 17 I was promoted to Shift Supervisor. I believe I got this promotion so quickly because I am responsible, I am a hard work, and I am easy-going all at the same time.
  • As a barista, I have experience working on a POS system, being under the expectation that the customer got the best service possible in a timely manner, and working well with others while multi-tasking taking orders, making espresso drinks, and preparing pasty case items.
  • As a shift supervisor, I supervised daily operations and ensured efficient workflow among team members. I parred all of the tills at the end of the shift and balanced the safe, placed inventory orders, and delegated various day-to-day operations.

Skills

  • Not to sound mundane, but customer service! Although I work in healthcare now, it all boils down to doing the best job you can to ensure you provide the best service you can for the customer (patient)
  • I work very well with others! I have the ability to work completely solo in my current position (which I don’t mind terribly), but I think it’s important to work as a team whenever possible for the best outcomes I make a point of getting established with my colleagues - I like people and working together on things!
  • I am responsible I take pride in my work, and always go above and beyond when I can I come to work on time and ready for my shift without fail!

  • Love to be surrounded by nature - hiking, biking, disc golfing, and swimming when weather permits!
  • Managing a 200 square foot garden where I like to grow crops for my 3 guinea pigs! My partner and I get the leftovers.

Veganism

  • Without a question, veganism is what I’m most passionate about in life. I went vegan in January of 2018, and that decision undoubtedly gave me a new purpose in life. At the time, I was living in an area without many vegan options, so when I first tried J Selby’s I was flabbergasted at the huge selection! And then brunch?! Wow. I remember my first meal at J Selby’s just as well as I remember my last (about a week ago), and it would mean so much to me to give people a vegan dining experience they’ll be overjoyed with, just like what has been given to me.
