01.2023 - Current
  • I am currently starting my second semester at SCSU, where I am now starting some graphic design courses. Having completed my generals before coming to SCSU at my local community college, all my time is now focused on getting my graphic design degree. I have just started learning about Adobe and its programs like Photoshop and Illustrator through a digital materials class, and I am actively working on improving my skills with Adobe by myself and in other classes.
  • Other highlights include a 3D materials class, where I learned how to problem-solve and work together in a group to make sculptures and other works of art. A digital materials class, where I was introduced to Adobe and the principles of design. And a lens materials and processes class, where I learned how to work a camera and how to print photos.

  • I worked at a local daycare in the baby room. There I made it a priority to make art with the babies. I looked up ideas for age-appropriate art activities and helped the babies make paintings in zip-lock bags, which they all enjoyed. To me, art is very important for all ages and I wanted to introduce the babies to art.

  • As a 4-H member in my local club, we did many art activities like painting and drawing. But for my projects, I mainly focused on my art and learning new processes and different mediums of art. For example, I learned how to quilt, paint with watercolors, scrapbook, work in a group creating and implementing a design for a club banner and booth, draw with different mediums, etc.
  • An important part of every 4-Her's life is the fair. I have entered my art every year into the Crow Wing Country Fair, where my art was judged by artists from the community. For the art I have entered, I have received blue ribbons and grand champions for almost all of my work. And from there I went to the State Fair three times for one of my quilts, and two acrylic paintings.
  • The whole point of 4-H is learning. Because of 4-H, I have better problem-solving skills and I can learn from my mistakes and do better next time. I also learned how to be comfortable showing my art and talking about my process. Because of 4-H I became a better artist.
