  • 2018-present. AP Literature and Composition and English 10 teacher. Lead teacher in integrating AP Lit with English 10 classes and increasing AP participation from 50 to 77%, with much of that growth coming from students of color, ELL's and SPED.
  • 2019. AP English Teacher of the Year, National College Board.
  • 2014-2017. Literacy Specialist. Mentored literacy practice across disciplines, coached teachers, designed and implemented professional development. Taught reading courses.
  • Leadership roles:
  • Initiated Poetry Out Loud program, producing two state champions, 3 runner-ups and 12 conference champs in ten years. Designed curriculum for program that has every 10th grader in school performing poetry.
