  • Adding nursing to these 3 groups was new, therefore I was involved in developing each role. Transgender and Intersex Specialty Care Clinic (TISCC)- Contacting patient’s via phone prior to scheduled appointments to review basic information, preferences, and to discuss the clinics process and set expectations. Running the TISCC Case Conference 3 times per month, where discussions were held on patients that were requesting interventions for the gender dysphoria (surgery, hormones). Tracking patients through the process and setting up appointments for pre and post op with Endocrinology and Mental Health once the surgical date was set. IM and SQ injection teaching. Medication adjustment phone calls. Contacting patient’s with provider’s recommendations. Prescription refills per protocol and filtering to MD when unable to fill per protocol. Triaging patient questions. Working with a multi-disciplinary team. Thyroid Clinic- person to person visits with patients to discuss proper administration of Levothyroxine/Synthroid, Methimazole, or PTU. Discussions with patients in regards to preparation of Whole Body Iodine Scan. Prescription refills per protocol and filtering to MD when unable to fill per protocol. Triaging patient questions/phone calls. Fracture Liaison Clinic- Working in the BOSS system, which created a list of patient’s that where either seen in the ER of hospitalized due to a fracture. Following the clinical guidelines. Contacting patient’s to education on Osteoporosis and invite them to be seen by our bone specialists to evaluate further.
