A psychology graduate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, committed to addressing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders through integrative, evidence-based care. Dedicated to advancing clinical skills, ethical practice, and client advocacy to make a meaningful impact in behavioral health.
Studying abroad in Florence, Italy, during my sophomore year allowed me to immerse myself in diverse cultures and travel throughout Europe, which broadened my global perspective and deepened my interest in cultural studies. In addition, I hosted weekly open mics in Kansas City, where I shared poetry and stories, fostering a community of creative expression. Currently, I am working on a book, Through Their Eyes, Through My Own, which explores themes of identity, self empowerment, and personal transformation through the lens of my experiences as a Muslim Queer Somali woman.
