Knowledgeable background working with children with ASD and their families. My heart is in this! I strive to make those small connections each day.
I assist the lead teacher in working with children on the Autism spectrum. I help them navigate through their school day, assist with daily skills as well as academics. I play and build relationships with each child and communicate with the parents. I have had experience with grades K-5.
As a site manager, my duties included supervising and coaching supervisors and recreation leaders for our before and afterschool program. I was the liaison between our program and the school and custodial staff. I was responsible for making sure we upheld requirements for accreditation and state safety requirements for grades K-5. I made sure we stayed within budget. I also kept professional development records for staff and participated in program development/training for staff. I did the staff schedules, and approved time for payroll. I helped shape the vision of the program and investigated innovative ways to improve. Parent communication was also a major part of my responsibilities. I also supported whenever needed with the children and during lunch and recess.
As a Program Supervisor, I worked with grades 1-3 before and afterschool. I developed curriculum to meet the needs of all areas of learning. I supervised and coached Recreation Leaders and helped them develop their skills. I planned family events and provided evaluations of the children as well as the staff under my lead.
As a Kindergarten Assistant, I followed through on tasks assigned by my supervisor. I worked directly with the kids and was able to use my creativity to implement some fun activities, themes and dramatic play areas.
