Asthma has been a persistent challenge throughout my 21 years of life. One of my favorite activities—petting cats and dogs—was taken from me at an early age due to the adverse effects it had on my respiratory system, leading to inflamed airways, coughing, and wheezing. Growing up, I struggled to determine my career path, as I wanted to pursue something that would both engage and inspire me. Throughout my education, I developed a deep passion for science and anatomy. When I discovered the respiratory therapy program, I immediately recognized it as the perfect fit for my interests and aspirations. This realization led me to choose a career as a future respiratory therapist.
