Tatum Dawn Timm

Marshall

Summary

My name is Tatum Dawn Timm. I’m a wife and a mother of 3 little boys; Joseph, Henry, and Elijah. We live in Marshall and enjoy spending our time outdoors if it's not too hot or very cold! We've planted our roots here and don't plan to move until we're empty nesters. I graduated in December 2022 from Southwest Minnesota State University with my bachelor's in Art and a minor in Graphic Design. I graduated high school in 2017, and started off going to Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN. My 2nd year in college I decided to get my Phlebotomy certification, which was one of the biggest challenges I faced in my young years. After graduating in 2019 from Ridgewater, I transferred to SMSU to finish my undergraduate degree.

Phlebotomist

  • Similar to my previous job with Carris Health. As a Phlebotomist through Avera I draw blood for patients and perform EKGs still but this time I do a little more. I processed bloodwork, urine, swabs (influenza, COVID-19, Strep), and stool tests. Not only am I stationed at the clinic on the regular, I also work at the hospital which puts me into a lot of strenuous events of having to get specimens from patients that are critical. I work independently on the days that I have to go to nursing homes throughout Marshall and draw blood.

DSP (Direct Support Professional)

REM (The MentorNetwork)
02.2018 - 07.2020
  • As a DSP, my entire role was to be a caregiver to individuals who lived together in a house. Each day I would help them complete their daily plans and goals. Duties included; making meals, giving medications, preparing their work lunches, bathing, and sometimes simply being just a friend to them.

Phlebotomist

Carris Health Clinic
05.2019 - 08.2019
  • As a phlebotomist my primary duty was to take patient’s samples of their specimens. I performed venipunctures on patient’s of all genders and ages, including babies and young toddlers. I also would perform EKGs (electrocardiogram) when doctors would order them. Throughout working as a phlebotomist I learned patience, integrity, determination, and understanding negative feedback.

Buffet Supervisor & Waitstaff/Cashier

Jackpot Junction Casino & Hotel
08.2016 - 04.2019
  • I started off working in the buffet as a waitstaff. My duties for each shift was to ensure that my station was stocked and ready to serve the guests. I would deliver their drinks, and whatever else they needed with their meal. As a waitstaff I also had to make sure that guests tables were cleaned throughout their meal, and then clean up afterwards. Other duties included; sweeping, mopping, wiping, stocking the station with cups.
  • I then got moved into the cashier role, which was dealing with a lot of money. I had to make sure change was given back to customers, and dealt with a lot of coupons other discounts that were difficult. At the end of each shift as a cashier we had to make sure our till was zeroed out along with the paperwork.
  • After working as cashier I was moved up to a lead supervisor, which the duties then entailed to making sure all waitstaff, cashiers, cooks, and hostess were doing their duties. As a supervisor I also would help all staff with cleaning their tables, getting drinks, folding napkins. At the end of each shift I would do paperwork to see what our percentage of wages against revenue made that night.
