During my time at the Allina Health Cancer Institute I have been able to expand my medical career all while learning a numerous amount of new things. There are many things that I do in my day to day work, some in which consist of; talking with providers and nurses about a patients care plan, acting on the care plan by putting orders in for the patient and then getting the patient scheduled at our facility or sometimes even an external facility. Other tasks would include faxing orders, maintain a workque, answer incoming calls for both AHCI and The Piper Breast Center, and provide assistance to the front desk when backup is needed. One of my passions is being able to help others. Within this role I have been able to grow great connections with patients while watching them to receive the best care possible.
While working at Allina Health Coon Rapids Clinic I have learned a variety of things. One big thing that is very important to learn is the program Epic, this is something that you use everyday. This software allows you to check people in, create telephone encounters, assists you with reschedules, helps you complete refills and MyCharts, along with many more. Day to day I am interacting with patients helping them with a smooth transition in the clinic that starts with checking in and then may end with scheduling. There is also a great amount of side work that is done throughout the day. This has all helped me build great communication skills. A couple achievements that I have been honored to be granted would be the Care On The Spot Awards. These both have come from my peers and leaders that I am surrounded with.
The summer of 2024 I had the opportunity to live in San Antonio, TX to care for my cousins. I made all their meals, brought them to their sporting events, and was able to fit in many activities with them throughout the day. Along with this opportunity I have also had many other nanny/babysitting opportunities.
While working at Starbucks I was able make many different drinks such as coffee, refreshers, blended drinks and teas. I also was able to help assist customers at the point of sale and engage in conversation with them as well as my coworkers during my shifts.
I had the opportunity to work at a nutrition shop serving healthy shakes and teas to customers at two different locations in the metro area. I made customer connections as I was making their drinks as well as checking them out at the point of sale.
During my time working at American Eagle I was able to help customers in many different ways. I was in the fitting rooms, checking them out at the point of sale, helping them find specific items and sizes, as well as answering phone calls with for people whom had questions on the other end of the line. It was a great way for me to connect and engage with customers and coworkers.
