At Vortex Capital I am a 50% owner. We purchase houses and we remodel them and we sell them. We have our own sub-contractors that do work for us that we oversee on each specific job they do on our flips. Day to day tasks include searching for properties to purchase, making sure work was done to standard by the sub-contractors, constant communication with crews, title companies, buyers & sellers. Negotiations with seller and buyers. Use of work documents to keep everything organized. Payments to everyone and handling money.
At Vortex Contracting I am also a 50% owner. WIth this company we got remodeling projects from our clients and we have sub-contractors and crews that do the work. I was in charge of finding the qualified subs to do the specific jobs, overseeing the subs to make sure everything is done to quality and is to standard of the client. I was also in charge of payments from the clients as well as to the sub-contractors. We did small projects and we also did full remodels to houses for other real estate investors.
Just as a side hustle that I have always enjoyed was flipping cars. I purchase cars through auction that have been in an accident and make the repairs to bring that car back to life. We have people from certain things of the repair that we do not do such as framing and painting but everything else we do ourselves. I Have been doing this for the last 8 years but the last couple years I have been taking it more seriously. Day to day tasks include transportation / delivery of vehicles, Finding the correct parts for the vehicles, transporting them to be repaired, repairing what needs to be done, passing MN state inspection and Selling of vehicles.
