Dynamic Warehouse Manager at Dennis Kirk Inc. with expertise in shipping and receiving, adept at optimizing workflow and enhancing team performance. Proven track record in problem-solving and staff supervision, ensuring safety standards and efficient operations. Skilled in operations planning, I successfully coordinated logistics to meet customer demands and improve order fulfillment.
Every morning I would come up with two different schedules when the employees come to work. One at 7am and another at 10:30am when the second shift would arrive.
I was in charge of 1st shift Shipping time cards and approve them right before pay day.
I was in charge of managing the flow of work going to our picking area and also the packing area. I would move employees around where they were needed to get the area caught up.
I would set up meetings with the shipping crew when needed to get onto the same page.
I took phone calls and watched for emails in case anyone needed assistance from inside or outside of the building.
I would review a report sheet that had all packages on it that didn’t ship out the day before. I would find out the reason why the package didn’t leave the building.
I would help stop packages from leaving the building if it was the customer’s request or a fraud order.
I would order special trucks come in to ship out packages that were too heavy to go on the standard truck.
I would order special equipment from the post office so we could separate the packages as they wanted done.
I would disarm and unlock the building when needed and also arm and lock the building when needed.
I would investigate any package that looked like it might break open or might not be accepted by the carrier. If the package wasn’t packed well enough, I would have the person that packed it, repackage it.
I also kept an eye on the conveyors so nothing would jam up and stop production.
